Covid-19 Vaccines

I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. This is good and pleases God our Saviour, who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth.  For, there is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus.
1 Timothy 2:1-5 (NLT)

The UK government’s announcement that vaccinations against coronavirus are going to be rolled out across the country has many people divided over the safety and moral ethics of the potential vaccines which may be used. We at regeneration are aware that there are people who are of different opinions concerning the viability and the ethics of using some vaccines with worrying origins.

Not all Christians agree on the ethics of vaccines in general, or some of the coronavirus vaccines in particular. For the Christian, the best opinion is one that is prayerfully considered and grounded in truth. The following articles are provided from different sources in order to provide reliable information which you may find helpful in making an informed decision regarding possible vaccination.

While all Christians may not agree on this subject, let us be respectful and wise in how we discuss, or post particular views, which may cause unnecessary confusion to others. Let’s pray that the Lord will give wisdom to our leaders at this time and that the healthcare professionals and frontline workers will be able to undertake their work with good physical health and mental strength, knowing that things are not always going to be like this.

Our prayer

Lord Jesus, we thank you for your gift of life and peace and most of all for your great salvation, eternal life, and the hope of heaven. We pray that your great love for our church will be manifest to us at this time and that we will know your protection and peace over bodies, minds and hearts. May we all have a greater sense of your calling on our lives to be your hands and feet in the world that you love so much. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
